Maryville is hit or miss. We were in Murfreesboro this past weekend but the prior Saturday we went to the Farmer's Market in downtown M'ville and were disappointed. To be fair though, this heat and drought aren't exactly making for fertile growing conditions.

Also, didn't I just read on another post that you just purchased in Morristown, by the lake? You might want to look up what houses were selling to locals just a few years ago verses what they are selling for now (talk about over priced!) verses the cost of homes in Gatlinburg a few years ago verses now. They have always been a bit high in Gatlinburg and with good reason. Can't see a reason in Mo'town.
Yes, I agree....how frickin' rude! We are not allowed to say what we have problems with and hope for direction? Anyway, nice of them to spout off even though they aren't local.

I am now living in Sevierville--we bought a home. I like it much better. Give a "new" person a break and help 'em out, not shoot 'em down!

P.S. I still miss Meijer.

I am soo glad you found a place that you like and makes you happy even if there is the one flaw of no grocery store chain you were used too.
Tell us about life in Sevierville? I am sure there are others moving to that area that would love your new comers insight.

Thumbs down Wal-mart is a disgrace-

No way. Kroger has clean, excellent stores and products. With all the poisoned food at Wal-mart from China, I will never shop there again. I even complained on Wal-mart website as to how poor their customer service is, inferior to any other store. The store on State of Franklin is also filthy- I will never go there again.

Default I miss TENNESSEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was born and raised in East Tennessee. When I left, I was so glad! Now many many years later, I heart aches for Tennessee! It is the most beautiful state I have ever seen! I live in horrible Atlanta now due to my husband, but would move back to Tennessee tommorrow if he would agree! No traffic, people, prices, or etc. in Tenn. are as bad as they are in Atlanta! So to all of you that are complaining or are unhappy there, I would gladly trade places with you! Thank GOD I am a Tennessean and always will be! Housing prices are very very good in Tenn, we have recently been home due to my Mother's death and could not believe how affordable they are for what you get! Our 350,000 dollar home in Atlanta would be much cheaper in Tenn! A 3br 2ba home for under 200,000 would be a dream!.... So anybody want to switch places just let me know!

How Bout Them Vols!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

amyevansmom, I appreciate your comments about Gatlinburg. When I read them earlier on (when you first wrote them) I scratched that area off my list and settled on Maryville. Even if people are insensitive about your comments, know that people like me appreciate your honesty.

So glad you found the right place for your family. Many blessings.

I guess it is where you live, I suppose, but I find prices in Atlanta to be fantastic. I have two foster brothers that have lived there for a couple of decades. Pay is better, too, with more jobs.

And we lost.

Although, Appalachian State was very cool, indeed!

Wow. I can't agree more.

The last time we came through Atlanta was to permanently move here. At 11 p.m. on a Sunday night, the traffic was just crazy. Even the cops speed by. It is definitely Nascar nation!

Have to agree w/bbkaren. We are in Denver, looking to move to Maryville due to reduced cost of living. Not only is our produce high, but very poor quality unless in season (for a week!). We lived in Ann Arbor while my husband was in law school (15 yrs. ago) and it was our first experience w/high housing costs.

It's all relative! If we make this move, we might be able to pay cash for a house since our housing market here is ridiculous, as well as our property taxes. I know it would be culture shock, but one I need to start breathing again!

Good luck - you will find your peace eventually!
