how do you heat your home!
Wood pellet fireplace inserts are taking off in the northeast. With the rising cost of oil more people are using them. In Tenn what is the most common way people heat their homes and what is the average cost. If you do use a wood pellet fireplace insert, what are you paying per ton for your pellets.

I heat and cool with a central electric Heat Pump. My average bill in the winter is $225 and summer is about the same. In the fall and spring it runs about $125. This is running everything including stove, dryer, and water heater on electric. My house is 2 years old, full brick, lots of windows, and has about 3400 sq ft.

Electric heat pump. My bill runs about $40-75 a month for electricity for a 1200 sq. ft. all-electric brick condo. I don't run it that much. I usually have it off except at night in the summer and rarely run it in Spring and Fall.
We've got really cheap electricity in much of Tennessee, 7 cents a KWH. Use a lot of hydroelectric power and coal. You won't find many heating oil companies, you will find propane.
I've lived in Maryland and in south Georgia and we just don't have that extreme heat, cold and humidity in Knoxville.
