We are in our last week in WI - my mom, 2 boys and I are leaving Friday, will be in Cookeville on Saturday. My husband will be a day behind us because of work. But by Sunday, my family and I will be TN residents! My son, who will be a freshman, will have missed about a week of school, but we did not know about the early start date until too late. But I am looking forward to being down there, even though I will miss my friends and my church up here. See you guys next week!

Don't worry, I think a lot of people who move to Cookeville don't enroll their kids until a week or two after the beginning of the school year. Since they're on the year-round calendar, I think they expect new residents to be a little late.

I hope the move goes great! Since you're a church-going person, be sure to look for a good church when you get to Cookeville. That will help you immensely as you get settled and look for new friends. Cookeville High is a big school, so hopefully your son won't be too overwhelmed and will be able to find a good group of friends for himself. Again, being part of a church group should help.

Keep us posted, and have a great trip!
