I was there Aug 5-16 & have been an asthmatic for 45 years & actually found the air quality there this August was the best it has been. However, allergies do hit us different than at home & it does take a few days to adjust. Humidity this year was negligent and we've been there every August for the past 8 years.

And jan. And into feb? My husband and i decided to retire in cumberland county and we are looking for land to purchase but he wants to have white christmas's and new year's - will he get those yearly? Thanks for any inputs - have a great day!!!

In the past 10+ years the area has not gotten much snow at all. We usually have a couple snows that dont last long. When I first moved here in 74, we had much more snow. I remember being snowed in for a week at a time. The snow is kind of hit and miss here. I've seen big snows on Thanksgiving and one yr. we had a big snow storm in April that pretty much shut things down. Lately tho we dont get much. I get excited every time they call for 2 to 3 inches, but Im usually disappointed.

Let's hope the weather is nice next Saturday in Cookeville. With the wife of a good friend, I'll be running the 10k in the annual Fall FunFest.

Thanks for your response to my questions re: snowfall '2mares' - is there any area in TN that gets 1-2 weeks of snowfall with snow that stays on the ground for several days at a time?
