A worker for Geren Rides known as “Cow Boy” scales the ferris wheel on Tuesday as he prepares the ride for the opening of the Putnam County Fair on Thursday, Aug. 7 at the Putnam County Fairgrounds.

For what it's worth, a friend of mine who has lived in Cookeville for almost 20 years prides himself on not having attended the county fair since 1993.

In today's H-C, you'll see a picture of damage due to storms that went through last night between 11:00 and 11:30....it WAS NOT A tornado...just some strong thunderstorms...while I am glad they publicized it, they certainly didn't do ANY story on the storm. There is a lot more information along with storm damage pictures here
