Hi my name is Bruce. I am a 41yo single white male who is seeking information on the South Pittsburg area. I now reside in a small community in the Adirondack Mountain region of Upstate N.Y. I have several questions about your area. Any responses would be greatly appreciated. Your cost of living seems to be very reasonable compared to my location.

Are there any small apartments, mobile homes, or even reasonable rooms for rent in Marion County? Would this area support a small gift store or bbq business? Are there store fronts or small diners that could be leased reasonably? ($500-$1000 per month) If not, are there any security or county correction jobs within 25 miles?

It has been several years since I have spent any time in Tennessee. I fell in love with the state on my first trip there in the early nineties. I have always been a southern boy at heart. Are the locals friendly toward respectful northerners? I hope so. Are there any areas where single people can go to socialize? As I said, I am currently single and would like to make new friends.

Sorry for so many questions. Any and all information would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks a bunch.

Adriodack Buck - Welcome to the board!

You might be better off posting that question on the Chattanooga forum for the locals to respond. Good luck with your job search. South Pittsburg is a beautiful area!

Hello Bruce, I live in South Pittsburg. We have a small town with main street business opportunities. Within the past couple of years here are some of the things that have opened-Mexican Rest-Antique Shop-Gift Shop-Flower Shop-I am happy to say that our once vacant little main st is alive weeknights and on the weekends!
Get in touch with the city manager T.J. Landers or the Mayor Mike Killian at City Hall for a more detailed update. Good luck to you!
