Default Henderson, Tenn Hardeman County

Possible 3500 acre lake projected in Henderson, Tennessee, Hardeman County in future. It's called Lake Silerton project. I would imagine it could affect property value down the road. Contact the Hardeman cty Chamber of Commerce for info...thankfully I did before buying property in that area. Best advice for anyone is buyer beware!

Wow! You're probably passing up a great opportunity. 1st the lake is iffy & 10 - 20 years away if at all. Second, it sure would have an affect on property values - they'll go sky high! Ten times what they are now if the project is started.

Great opportunity????? What will happen to the value of my acreage once the area is flooded? I will lose the precious LAND I wanted. If I wanted lakefront property I would buy it. Plus, the city, county or whoever won't pay me what I paid for the property 10 to 15 years down the road once 1/2 the property and outbuildings are 400' under water. Oh, and as far as property values going sky high I highly doubt it. Once they flood the area the access road will be cut off to Jackson! This projected lake is NOT a great deal for everyone IF it happens. And who wants to take a chance on a 1/2 million dollar investment going down the tubes 10 to 15 years down the road when I am old and feeble?

This lake is highly unlikely. Silerton is almost surrounded by Chickasaw State Park and Forest. I doubt they will be flooding that anytime soon. Also, the land around Silerton that isnt park is owned by VERY influential people and it is their prime hunting land and i doubt they will part with it happily. We have enough places to fish around here as it is.
