Simple Country Log Homes
Has anyone used or heard of Simple Country Log Home out of Greenville TN?
They sell direct and cut out the middle man and seem to have very good prices in comparison to others.

I think a smart thing to do is rent a log home, find out what kind and then figure out what you want. That is what I did.

Yes yes yes! Honest Abe is a Tennessee company, they mill the logs right there in Clay County near Dale Hollow Lake. Everyone I know who's used them absolutely loves them.

See Now I stayed in a Honest Abe home and found it not to be the best log home. It shifted alot and there were alot of gaps in this home. It might have been the builder, but it did not impress me.

Do you have a link available to their site? I can't seem to find them online.
I'm a fan of Stonemill for their old fashioned timber chinked Smokey Mountain type homes, if you like that style.
The following are sourced from their site (let me know if this violates TOS, but I doubt they would mind):

My other favorite is Tennessee Timberframe, a subsidiary of Tennessee Log Homes (I like their timberframes, not their log homes, but those seem nice too). They also work with a group of designers that render up some great sketches and designs for their existing timber framed home designs. It might be worth a look. Though it may sound like they are more expensive than the Simple Country Log Home company in reference.

This pic is similar in design to StoneMill's work. I do like the look and having the modern conveniences inside:

Post or PM the site to Simple Country, I look forward to it.

[Moderator cut: link cut Thanks! Not my taste, but it looks like a good product. Interiors seem nice. I guess it really depends on how the details like the type of material they place between logs, what they place as insulation in the roof rafters and soffets, and other weatherproofing specs.
Have they given you any quotes, even general ones, per square foot? What do you get with the kit and dry in?
