Do Tennesseans consider Kentuckians to be southern?
I am from Kentucky and have lived here for quite sometime. I have often wondered whether or not our Tennessee neighbors consider us to be southern? When I refer to southern I am asking, do you believe us to be southern culturally, socially, politically, traditionally, our value system, etc? I know that opinions vary and therefore not everyone is going to agree on this subject. I am asking because I am curious and would like to know what y'all down there think. Not that it matters, but I believe us to be a southern state with southern values, culture etc, but I wanted to see what y'all think.

Mostly so, yeah. Obviously the areas around Cincinatti aren't going to be very Southern, but otherwise...
... especially the eastern part of the state!

Yes, and anybody who grew up saying "y'all" is southern, no matter where they actually live.

I consider Kentucky, as a whole, to be Southern although Northern Kentucky and Louisville definitely have a Midwestern feel to them.

Same here. I grew up there. It's probably more southern than anything else, but it's the mid-South rather than the deep-South variety. Toss in plenty of midwestern and Appalachian, and it's an interesting mix.
