Construction of a replica train depot in the Town of Monterey is one step closer to reality with the recent awarding of a nearly $300,000 grant from the Tennessee Department of Transportation. The depot is set to be built near its original location and will also serve as an important landmark in relation to the future Rails with Trails project, a hiking, biking and multi-use path set to run from Cookeville to Monterey.
