Going on a 9-day trip to explore TN. Thanks all for such great posts; information here has nicely prepared us for our next adventures. Landing in Nashville (from CA). Will be looking in the following areas (no particular priority): Murfreesboro (gotta learn how to say this 'right'), Lebanon, Cookeville, Silver Point, Baxter, Carthage, South Carthage (& perhaps other(s) I'm not remembering off the top of my head as I keyboard this). Point of going now is TN is always beautiful in the Spring / Fall, so we're 'visiting' during other times.
Emphasis is to scope out the areas in general. Intent is to determine (if, then where) to move / 'retire' to, rent for a while, look more, take our time, slow doen some, then determine what / where to purchase. Basic requirement is no further than about an hour (or so) from the Nashville airport. As we've drawn our maps, that means about as East as Cookeville vicinity.
Let the adventure begin for the two of us.
