info on whitwell
I, like the first post, would like to hear from those of you who live in or are familiar with the surrounding area to describe to us outsiders what your town and rural surrounding is like. Thanks for the city's website but we can get a better 'feel' of whitwell from hearing your describtion. I am looking for 10 or so acres of affordable land to hunt on and build a very modest (hunter's) cabin on. I'd like to know how much concern one has to have about vandalism; how friendly and accepting folks are of (respectful) newcomers;
and such. I'm usually not this wordy but I really want to hear from folks before deciding on spending a long ride up from Georgia to explore the areas.

Rural mountain land abundant on the several mountains with prices rising all over with newcomers arriving; best to identify properties prior to driving up - best to check with local realtor to quickly identify available acreage, utility sources, mineral rights, etc. As to vandalism, we are all subject to such no matter where living even in cities across the nation - no assurances here.
Long-time residents of this Sequatchie Valley area adjusting and welcoming newcomers with new schools, expanding churches, several new subdivisions in various price ranges.
