Are termites a serious problem in the Cumberland Plateau region around Cookeville and Crossville?

I would say rule of thumb: If there is seasonal changes (that can support their life cycle) dampness and wood, there will be termites. And if you are speaking of a house, you should always treat for them whether you see them or not.
