That-- and all those SUVs fueling up. Am I the only person in Knoxville that drives a fuel-efficient car? 'Cause my little car was surrounded by monster SUVs when I finally found a station with gas. Ka-ching! What a profitable day for the concerned citizens at Pilot and Weigels.

Gas in Knoxville costs more than in does than CA right now. That is DEFINITELY a first!

Here's what the manager of Costco in Orlando told us this evening. In Florida there is a 70% cap on how much fuel can be delivered at any one time. So if your normal delivery is 10,000 gals., you would now get 7,000. Some of the stations bagging are evidently trying to 'stretch' their allocation until the next delivery. This particular Costco had two tankers delivered today. Regular unleaded went up 2 cents from yesterday to $3.53.

I have not seen lines at a gas station since I was a child in the early 70's. Today, as I was coming back into Clarksville from Huntsville I stopped to fill up and there was a line in the middle of the day - people very nervous acting. I did not put two and two together. Saying 5 dollars a gallon by tomorrow.

I grew up in Clute/Freeport Area and there are many refineries in that area. Looks as if they are going to get hammered pretty bad. I pray for my friends and family who are stuck there.

My boyfriend and I spent the better part of an hour waiting to get gas. He's a delivery driver for Domino's so he needed it to work tonight. This was on Morris Blvd in Morristown

Pilot and Weigel's say they are not price gouging, either. They just sold the same gas they were selling at $3.59 yesterday morning at $4.49 yesterday afternoon without receiving any new deliveries-- while the price of crude was falling. All because scared consumers were panicking in light of an impending natural disaster.

The media is putting the spotlight on this, so I doubt they'll raise it much more without a corresponding increase at the supply chain level. Demand should be down today anyway-- everybody filled up yesterday!

DH just filled the car for 4.00 for regular. Diesel is now cheaper than gas so he's filling the truck.

Merchant's Drive, Cedar Lane side, BP Shell and Citgo are selling at $4.49. Tanker just delivered at the Citgo.

Pilot, on the other hand is selling for $4.99. For their stinking ethanol gas!

There were a lot of ticked-off people at the Citgo. We were all discussing Pilot's price gouging.
