Does anyone know about Franklin TN?
We would like to move to Franklin area. I am
trying to find information on bringing birds into the state! We too are sick of Florida! We will be visiting Tennessee in July.
Thanks for any help! I can't believe how all the Tennessee people are so friendly on this site.
Thanks Missy

I don't know anything about birds but I love Franklin. It's safe, great schools but the police officers are anal just like Brentwood. (They can't afford to live in the towns so they actually have a habit of pulling over the "nicer" cars)... but that's about all you need to worry about. Everyone is nice, polite, and Franklin has everything you could ever need right in the city. Seriously!
If you have any questions just ask, apparently there are a lot of people from Williamson on this forum.

The Franklin area is great. I love it. There are beautiful communities, its close to Cool Springs Mall and all the other shopping areas surrounding the mall, and there are GREAT schools. For homes or a few acres try www.realtor.com its the best place to look for homes and huge properties. Welcome to Tennessee! Hope you find it better than Florida!

Hi y'all! Franklin is a wonderful city! History meets charm esp. downtown! Make sure you check out the Factory, and antique shops. Franklin is a huge Republican, church going community so make sure that appeals to your life style before making the big leap! Hope your move goes well!

Hi birdie mom! You will love Franklin. It is a historical town with lots of quaint shops. However, ultra modern malls and stores are located in Cool Springs (between Franklin and Brentwood.) I don't know anyone who works for Publix but I shop there! They just opened a new Publix located on the corner of Nolensville Road and Concord Road in Brentwood. If you view my profile you will find info on my webiste. I have lots of links and information on Williamson County on my website ~ schools, news, government, taxes, etc. that you may find helpful. Take Care!

I would like to add the Old City area in Franklin is on the up and up, especially on Colombia ave... Hell, and Cool Springs... who knows when it will stop growing? They are building a new police station in the old city in Franklin by the semi-dangerous part of the town.
Franklin has every store you need, plus two of them.. Seriously.. Grocery Stores, Wal-Mart, etc will all be pretty close.
If you come be wary of Royal Oaks, a known speed trap. It's a 30mph limit on a road that's ment for you to go 45mph. It's really the luck of the draw on that street!

I used to live in Nashville and then the other side of Franklin in Maury county.
Just know that you will be a "foreigner" there. It is real Southern Baptist kind of Red State out there. Beautiful and with lots of old South Charm. It has been a money magnet the last decade or more (my best friend is in property management in Nashville). BTW, I assume that you are white? Probably best.

Don't listen to "mhogan10010"! He has no idea what he is talking about. Franklin is a great place no matter what your political affiliation is or what race you are. The people are very friendly. It is one of the fastest growing areas in the state. It has great schools and an historic downtown area. Great shopping also. You will love it here!
