Middle TN is crazy expensive..
I've lived in Hendersonville for the last 8 years and I really dont see why it's so expensive.
Theres nothing great about Hendersonville, it's boring, even with the mass production of new businesses, jobs are taken before you even have a chance to apply, the air is horrible here, etc.
Anyone else feel this way?

Anyone got an answer?
As I've posted in other threads, my family and I have lived in Hendersonville (Sumner) for 8 years and absolutely hate it.
But it seems like we're stuck here. My Dad works in Nashville and can't go anywhere TOO far, because Gas prices are too high to be driving 50-100 miles roundtrip daily.
Taxes are so high here, rent is outrageous, etc. but everytime we look in the newspaper its like NOTHING is good enough, nothing is convenient enough.
I guess the most "convenient" area would be somewhere within no more than 1 hour from Nashville, somewhat rural, and low crime.
Does anyone know where this place could be?

Expensive? No. Compared to where I moved from not even close. The rents here are much less. Taxes are half or better, Insurance is half and my electric is half. Home prices are much less as well. The air is another story. I have more sinus headaches here.
Expensive is subjective to what you are used to and where you moved from. I do hear local people say things here have gotten a lot more expensive for them. I think the whole US is suffering that same fate to a certain extent though. The prices off everything are esculating.
I'm kind of surprised you don't like Hendersonville. Most people that post from there love it.
I like your handle BTW, I like Ron Paul as well.

I do agree with what Kim918 said. I go to Hendersonville all the time to go shopping, sit by Old Hickory Lake, restaurants, movie theatre, etc. Hendersonville has so much to offer and compared to living in the northeast U.S., it's inexpensive.
Everyone has a right to their opinion, so if you don't happen to like living there, maybe a change is in order in the future.

I had a home in Hendersonville a few years back, and would agree with most of your observations. It is over-developed and, in my opinion, over-rated. I can't say, however, as I was aware of it having particularly bad air quality...other than the high humidity during the summer months, which is typical of most areas in the southern U.S. On the plus side, Southern hospitality is alive and well there!

Having just read this, your second posting...and having responded to your first... I have a feeling you wouldn't be happy anywhere. I think your discontentment will follow you wherever you may go.

You should consider Joelton or Pleasantview as prospective sites.
