Mercer is on the southwest side of Madison County, near both Haywood County (on the west) and Hardeman County (on the south).

Mike...I've actually found a property outside of Mercer (south about 4-5 miles on Hwy 138). It's secluded and gated. At this point I'm seeking more information on the community. With the financial markets the way they are I'm really I'm looking for the privacy, seclusion and safety. (survivalist mode thinking) The place has a whole house generator and two large buried propane tanks.

There isn't really much of a community there as far as I know. I mean, it's just a rural area. Most of the people there have probably been there their entire lives.

It sounds like the area youre talking about is closer to the Hardeman County town of Cloverport. It is even smaller than Mercer.
