Tellico Village is only 30 min max from the airport and shopping is no more than 25 minutes to Knoxville. It is a no brainer. Who wants to live an hour away from an airport and an hour away from any kind of shopping you desire.(FFG) FFG also looks trashy coming into the community. Also if you want to fly cheap to Fort Lauderdale.(from Knoxville) Use Allegiantair.com. $120.00 round trip. A DEAL!!!! You can buy a home alot cheaper than you think in Tellico Village. I also like the idea that Tellico Village isn't in TORNADO ALLEY Just my thoughts....

In fact, a tornado touched down around Lake Tansi today which is the 2nd this year in Cumberland County:

This isn't the first tornado to come near FFG. I have a friend that lives there and they have had a few to come to Crossville. (too close for me) FFG is nice but more Rural than TV.

FFG is also up on the Plateau, TV isn't. Big difference in summer temps.
Also from City-data.com:
Crossville-area historical tornado activity is slightly below Tennessee state average. It is 38% greater than the overall U.S. average
Loudon-area historical tornado activity is below Tennessee state average. It is 1% smaller than the overall U.S. average.

Temp and amenities
Tellico Village does have less severe weather -- especially in winter. Also, FFG is too far from shopping, restaurants, Doctor and emergency options, etc.. Let's face it. We want to enjoy retirement, but we are older and tired of commuting. TV is stretched along its own parkway, and people on the parkway are coming or going to and from Tellico Village. The road isn't really a path to anywhere else. It is an amazing sanctuary close to the airport, Turkey Creek shops and dining, and tons of activities. The POA/HOA teams do a great job of keeping the area pristine, and the residents don't throw stuff out of their car windows! Love the new grocery store!
