Beautiful photos Laura and MB!
Well, I just got back from visiting relatives in northwestern South Carolina, but along the way I took some photos... they initially start out in mountainous east Tennessee on I26 and show how the leaf color is so much less as we enter South Carolina.
There was hardly any change even in the mountain areas we passed through around 2500 ft. There may be more on the highest peaks of SC, but not where we were. Sorry, some are not TN photos, but I am also posting my NC-SC photos as a contrast of the changes we seen during our drive.
The last few photos are at the overlook on I26 near Temple Hill in Tennessee....
This was heading down I26 in northeast Tennessee on Friday... I think it will still be a few days before they peak here...
That little truck you see on the trailer was headed to Georgia... it had Georgia plates on the trailer... it was a neat little thing.
This is heading down I26 before we got to Asheville, NC...
This was just after we crossed into South Carolina.... note the much less change in color....
This is on down off the mountains... this is actually on I85 in upstate South Carolina... notice very little change...
This is looking out of my aunts/uncles garage door in Anderson South Carolina... Anderson has very little change...

and a walk through their neighborhood.... (mostly Live Oaks)
here is about the only "colored" tree in the neighborhood... this was at the community pond...

and on out from the pond out of the neighborhood...
just some palms I snapped while driving in Anderson... Cabbage palms I think.
Downtown Greeneville still all green...
Heading back into mountainous parts of upstate northwest South Carolina.... very little change...
This is heading back up into southwest North Carolina...
I think we were already in Tennessee here on I26 northbound...
this was at a scenic overlook at about 2750 ft. above sea-level..
