Post What is the least rasict city near Nashville?

Hey.
I currently live in Fl. and i have all my life and i hate it. My boyfriend is black, and we are expecting a child. I dont want my kid to be raised here because it is horrible. I love the mountains and all that, so can someone please tell me what a good city to live in would be. I dont want to live in the ghetto, or a big city. But i dont want ot have to worry about rasict stuff being said.

I agree FL stinks, but this question has been asked over and over again. You could research past threads for other answers to this. You are not going to find outward racism in the Nashville area and surrounding communities. I live in Murfreesboro (30 minutes from Nash), it is very diverse and no one would look at you funny, trust me on this. Frankilin, Hendersonville, Mt Juliet, Brentwood, are some of the other suburbs surrounding Nashville. All would be perfectly fine for you to move to. You won't have any problems.

I also moved here from FL and love it It was the best move I ever made. The people here are very friendly and "Modern". Just because it's the south doesn't mean the people here never saw a mixed couple before. I assure you, you won't be the first and you will be doing your baby a big favor getting out of FL!

Much Luck to you in finding your new home.

One thing that struck me with your post is that you said you love the mountains but then asked about living near Nashville. Just so you know, Nashville is not near the mountains. If you want to live near the mountains and be in a fairly large city, you'll need to check out Knoxville and Chattanooga.

And no, there's no more racism in Tennessee than there is in Florida.

Good luck!
