Lodge Cast Iron Skillet and Cookware ~ Made in TN
It's been a while but someone asked about cast iron skillets, etc. being made in TN. I finally found the company. It is Lodge and they are America's oldest cast iron cookware company. They are located in South Pittsburg, TN.
Here is a link to their website: Lodge Cast Iron Cookware - America's Original Cookware - South Pittsburg, TN USA

On my way home from Asheville last weekend, I just stopped by the Factory outlet off of Interstate 40 on the road to Sevierville and picked up a starter kit of 5 items for $50.. I love cast iron cookware..
Great for cooking on my wood stove too.I never understood why people like using those nonstick teflon pans which flake off into your food. Yuck! Leeching chemicals are not part of my diet..

Her and I have been kidding each other all day.
I hate that scary non-stick stuff, too. We do have one Lodge. Very large fry-pan. The problem is that I can't lift it up. I never use it. My husband likes to, but he has to clean it because I can't do that, either.

Mild soap and water..... and then bake it in the oven at 250-300 for half hour. So it does not rust, I use peanut oil, just a dab and rub it in the skillet when it's hot and leave in the oven......

I don't clean mine much at all. My mother gave me an ancient looking skillet, thankfully, as they cook and the food tastes so much better on an old cast iron skillet rather than a new one.
