There will be 50 police checkpoints in Tennessee beginning 6PM on Wednesday and ending midnight on Sunday. They will be doing both sobriety and unlicensed driver checks. Apparently 13 people died on Tennessee roads last Thanksgiving weekend and 20 people died on Thanksgiving weekend in 2006.

Hey I alway like the good one "I pulled you over because you tail light was flickering". Now that was one I never heard before. I checked/looked and had other people follow me to see the flickering tail light for almost 2 1/2 years! I only had two different officers see it. They were THAT good,or so they thought.

I'm glad they're out there. I've got kids on the road and kids in my vehicle. I'm glad there's someone that cares whether or not the roads are safe for us.

A huge thank you and stay safe out there to all of our law enforcement and emergency services personnel out this holiday season.

oh, wah.

Follow the law and you won't have a reason to whine.

Quit speeding and you won't have a reason to have a "monitor" or whatever they call them.

Don't drink and drive.

Turn down your headlights when someone is coming towards you or you are behind them. Stay off of the guy in front of you. Stop being aggressive. Driving is a right and not a privilege. Use the one-a-thousand rule.

Be nice.

And stop trying to intimidate me. It won't work.

And God Bless all the men and women out there trying to take care of us on the roads. They went with out their families and a turkey dinner. Maybe they missed their first-born unwrap their first present. All so you could be safe.
