I wondered what kind of luck you had...we're going to do FSBO and I think we're gonna start exclusively w/ Craigslist.

I dont plan on paying a realtor in THIS market. Not for a rural residence, anyway.

You too! Just posted today. Already have had some hits. A little scary since I'm not quite ready to pack up and go. We figure we'll keep it free for a while, do some cosmetic work, and then begin marketing in earnest.

Also need to have a yardsale!

That's exactly what we've been doing. I advertised on there while we're doing the yard work, face lifts, etc. Already had my yard sale.

If you both weren't in the "wrong" area I'd ask for details via DM :-)
I can only speak from a Buyer's End but right now I'd muchhhh rather find a house w/out Realtor- had veryyy bad experiences there and apparently they don't wish to listen when you give them a list of details (like Acres) that you're looking for...get's very old very quick.

Not yet...we've had commercial property listed since mid September. Our friends sold some land through Craig's list which was near Nashville though.

I've used craigslist to sell homes, land, cars, etc. It's free which is sweet, you'll get lots of looky loos which is par for the course. I have my land listed on CL now, no luck selling though. Darn economy!

We had ours listed on CL for a few months until I just couldn't take the calibre of people that wanted to buy it. It was listed below market value by 20%. And did qualify for bank and FHA guidelines for loans.
We stated we wanted to sell. The forclosure type people wanted to buy it for about 35% to 50% of market. People wanted to give us 5 to 7% down and make payments to us. Alot of people didn't qualify/or have a bank loan set up ahead of time. No one wanted to give us a good faith deposit and get the loan on their own.
I really hate to say it but we went with a realtor. Had it on the market at full price for just over 5 months, took 12% less at closing than market.

Wow, we are getting a realtor too. Not one single hit on Craigslist!
