Need info. on Maynardville - please help!
Hello,
Looking for any and all info on Maynardville please.
Picked out a piece of land but not sure who to use to excavate driveway and housesite. Know any trustworthy people for this?
Estimate of what this runs? property is pretty steep.
Electric company - do they give you an amount of free footage to run your electric (I know in the county where Tazewell resides they give you the first 1,000 feet free).
I homeschool my daughter, are there any homeschool groups in the area?
Do people in town accept people moving from out of state? the realtor is sooo sweet but what about people who live there.
We are trying to make a decision of making an offer this week. We really appreciate all information.
What are taxes like?
Anything else you think we should know would be greatly appreciated.

I have tried to get some info on Maynardville, and Luttrell as well. I believe the problem is...it's unremarkable. Not too many people have really had much experience one way or another there--good or bad.
That's the impression I get.
And from that perspective, unless I hear otherwise, I plan to investigate that area thoroughly when we visit in May because that's just the kind of town I'm looking for! One close enough to Knoxville for work, but not one that people are flocking to move to.
Good luck and since there's such a dearth of information on Maynardville here, please share anything you find out, and I'll do the same!

Just moved to Maynardville
Kathy and Karen... it is perfect.
People are real sweet and land is plentiful.
About 30 minutes into Knoxville, no traffic, no drama, few restrictions.
If country is what you want, you get it here. Simple life.
Don't move out west. You'll be sorry in 2-3 years.
Kingston, Harriman, will be overpopulated with lots of gated communities.
Maryville is industrial and crowding.
My recommendation is move north of Knoxville. The population is not too diverse, but hey it's safe and quiet.
We are very happy with our decision. No more crowding, no more traffic, just moutains and nature.
