From our 5-week experience in Maryville during July and August, I can tell you that TN humidity doesn't hold a candle to humidity in the Orlando area. Yes, the mornings are steamy--hence, Smoky Mountains' name--but by 9 or 10 the humidity goes back to 'normal' and wha la--gorgeous weather.
Being from Florida, I can attest to this. Maryville and E. TN in general is no where near the humidity that is experienced in Florida. I have spent many weeks in Maryville, Townsend, Walland, Gatlinburg and Pigeon Firge in the heat of the summer and it is very tolerable compared to Florida. You won't hear me complain.

LovnTN is on a distinguished road
As some have mentioned in the previous postings the humidity tolerance level is based more on your personal comfort level. Someone also mentioned that they found TX tolerable, yet I cannot stand TX during the summer and I find the Nashville area much more than tolerable. We lived in middle PA for 2-3 years and their summers were downright miserable due to the humidity. The best thing for you to do is spend several weeks during the high peak humidity times in the different areas prior to making it your permanent home.
