If you find it please report back. I was in Chicago two weeks ago and made that dessert a priority! There are some "good for this area" tiramisu but none that are as good as I've had in the northeast.

Try Publix Supermarket Bakery in Chatt. They have a signature Tiramisu that is really good. I would call first to make sure they have it. If they don't, they can order it for you.

Go into Trip Advisor and enter Tiramisu. It will list the restaurant and every ones comments on the Tiramisu. Also know as Tennessee Tiramisu. Other than that here is a recipe........

They also have a "Signature" Tiramisu as well, which is larger in size.

Not the best recipe I've seen for Tiramisu. Where is the Mascarpone cheese? It only uses cream cheese in this one, unless I missed something. You must use Mascarpone to make it real! haha!
This one that Emeril makes looks great.

after looking up several recipes, I thought I would make one myself
went to the grocery store
buying things and could not find the lady finger things, then found them in the bakery area (I was looking in the cookie area)
on the back of the lady finger package, there is a "classic tiramisu" recipe
it calls for
6 egg yolks
1-1/4 cups mascarpone Cheese*
1-3/4 cups heavy (or whipping) cream
2 packages (3 ounces each) ladyfingers
1/3 cup coffee liqueur (or Brandied Espresso*)
Sweeened Whipped Cream*
Unsweetened cocoa powder for garish
chocolate curls for garish
*as substitue for mascarpone cheese:
combine 1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, 1/4 cup sour cream & 2 TBS whipping cream, mix until blended and fluffy
*Brandied Espresso: Combine 1/3 cup hot wter and 2 tsp instant coffee granules. Stir until coffee is dissolved. Blend in 1 tsp brandy
*Sweetened Whipped Cream: Combine 1/2 cup whipping cream, 1 tbl unsifted confectioners sugar and 1/4 tsp vanilla extract. Whip until stif peaks form.
combine egg yolks and sugar and whip until thick and lemon colored, about 1 minute. Place in top of double boiler, over boiling water. Reduce heat to low and cook 8-10 mins, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and cool to room temperature. Add mascarpone cheese, beating well. Whip heavy cream until stiff peaks form. Fold into egg yolk mixture; set aside. Line bottom and side of 3-quart bowl with ladyfinger halves. Brush with coffee liqueur. Spoon half of egg yolk-cream mixture into ladyfinger-lined bowl. Repeat ladyfingers, espresso and cream layers. Garnish with Sweetened Whipped Cream, cocoa and chocolate curls. Cover and refrigerate several hours or overnight. 10-12 servings.
after buying all this stuff, it's not a cheap desert
so, will make once and see how it goes (will make for our family Christmas dinner next Sat)

looked up Emeril's recipe, that looks too complicated
the Betty Crocker one looks very simple
now, if I used the mascarpone
where do I find it?
