Hwy 26, the new(open about 4 years now) high way that connects Johnson City TN to Asheville NC has been mentioned several times here on this forum. On our trip to Fl, as that is the route we take, I snapped a few pictures. This was about 5:00 on a Friday afternoon. Some are fuzzy, my apologies, we were driving at the time hehehehe.

This is just South of Johnson City between the Elizabethton and Eriwn exits.

These are south of Unico County but still on the TN side.

These are coming down the NC side.

mbmouse....Nice area.
Three years ago I spent a week in Johnson City. I was all over the place.
I visited: Jonesborough, drove to Elizabethton, took Mountian View rd.,
Old Grey station Rd., Pickens Bridge rd., Boones Creek Rd., Carroll Creek Rd.,
visited Little Cherokee, Boone, Hale and many other stops along the way...
BUT... when I left town... I took I-26 out and was awe-struck.
How did I miss this part of the area??? It was to late to stay and I have to make certain I take this road again. If I make it.
It was soooo breathtaking. After Unicoi and Erwin I came upon a lookout point and spent 1 hour there, alone, just sucking in the workmanship of the great artist. He really does impressive work. ;--)
I have pics on a "zip disk", would ya believe that. If I get the nerve to attempt to pull them out I will try to post them.
I am a bit illiterate when it come to that transfer kind of stuff.
Thank you for shaking up the memory and taking the time.
Regards,
Carpenter
