Default Tennessee Property Tax Rates

I see several posts on this forum about property taxes in Tennessee. The following websites will tell how taxes are calculated, and the tax rates of various counties for 2006 (the latest tax year available).

http://www.comptroller.state.tn.us/pa/pahtfytb.htm

http://www.comptroller1.state.tn.us/PAnew/LR.asp?W=06

Remember that there can be a country tax and a city tax (the chart shows both and then a total).

I hope that this helps anyone interested. There is additional information if you care to read it (I doubt that many Tennesseans do) at this same website of the State Comptroller.

DaisyMay is on a distinguished road
guess it depends on the county. Marion County is approx $500 for each $100,000 of appraised value yearly.
