Default Munincipal water quality

Hmn, this question is the result of a post I read on another thread. How is the overall taste/quality of city drinking water? A few of the lots I identified as being possibilities would require a well, but most indicated city water tap available at the road.
We have well water here and it's great; so much so that while I'd prefer to have a glass of water instead of a soft drink when dining in town or the city, I can taste the difference and don't like the munincipal water, so lemonade or root beer is the choice. Of course here it seems people who live in town think the city water is fine . These poor folks just don't know any better

I understand your last part. Where I grew up, we had a nice well. Whenever I went to town and had to drink the tap water it tasted awful.

The quality is going to vary a lot by location; so there's no way to really give you a blanket statement of the water quality. In most locations the water is okay. A few areas get their water from streams that get low in summertime; sometimes the taste of the water is affected.

And one additional comment, in some locations, if there is a water utility, you are required to use it. Why? $$$$$$$$$

I do prefer well water in most cases myself. My folks have well in Rogersville area and that is good. I have City in North Johnson City and I like it ok, it is not near as bad as some City water I have tasted. I agree with Allycat, it just depends on where you are.
