Gatlinburg
Hello. I'm a new member. Yipee! Nine months ago I moved from Michigan to Arizona. (marriage) I definitely thought I was informed enough to prepare myself and daughters for the transition. I only made two trips prior to moving. Bottom line-there's no place like home. (espically after 43 years) Maybe my age makes the adjustment harder but then again my teenage daughters seem to struggle more than I do. I remember contemplating a move to Tennessee 10 years ago and decided it was just too far away from family. I would love to be only 550 miles away from family (not 2000). Anyway, amyevansmom, I feel for you. But you have made a wise move in my opionin. Economy is so tough in Michigan. It only stands to reason groceries are more affordable because people can't hardly afford to buy them. What's a grocer to do but sell'em cheap! Same goes for housing. The way I see it, you live in a fabulous country and an absolutly beautiful state-any direction you go in Tennessee. You've heard it before-Change isn't easy and doing what's right for your family isn't always easy just because it's right. You can pat yourself on the back girlie-Q! Ya know, the left brain is rational and tells you to pack up and go for all the right reasons and that's good but the right emotional brain functions best when things remain safe and easy (that's why becoming a non-smoker is a b****). Change like yours has thrown a monkey wrench into the mix. I am homesick in Arizona. I would dream about trees EVERY NIGHT for the first two months. This is like living on another planet but with scorpions. I did a google search for you and found grocerysavingtips.com Appears to be a great little sit. The housing thing will work out too. Be easy on yourself and present circumstances and know that someone 1563 miles away is pulling for you.
