Tennessee TROUT fishing
Hello all. If I wanted to move to Tennessee for year-round trout fishing as the only requirement, where would I move too. It will be our little secret and you can visit me and fish anytime. Thank you
Keven

Thank You SmokyMtnGal. I thought that would be the typical response but I had to try. Thank you for your response. I want to buy land and help support the local economy . I would also let any local resident fish from my land if they wanted too. I am not one of those folks looking to change the ways of the people in the area I move to, I want to fit in and get along. Thanks again
Keven
ps: would you take me fishing with you if I pay all costs?

Seriously Kevin, there is a lot of great fishing in the entire state. I don't know as much about middle and west as some. I would avoid the area around the TVA spill and a bit downstream at all costs. I fished with Daddy growing up but don't anymore. My brother and Dad do all the fishing now. My dad and stepmother own a lot of property in NETN and have a lake on it where they have fish. My family owns a cabin up on Watauga and the family fishes a lot on Watauga or around it and my brother ventures down to the Fall Creek Falls area about 4 times a year. I think Middle TN has a lot of spots that are great.
Once you get here and get to know people it'll come. Folks are welcoming and generous.

I'd choose the Tellico Plains area (Farner, Turtletown, Coker Creek, etc.) You get the Hiwassee, Tellico, North and Bald Rivers plus places like Santeetlah, Coker, Kirkland, Lost and Turkey creeks. I caught my biggest trout on Bald River one year just above the Falls. You have lots of lakes to choose from as well. (with he exception of Watts Bar).
I caught some beautiful blue cats on Parksville Lake and Chilhowee.

The Clinch River Chapter of Trout Unlimited meets in Norris, Tennessee. They have their own website:
index
I see them fishing in Norris at all times of the year.
All 4 photos below were taken in Norris. The first two photos were taken in the Weir Dam area. Weir Dam is a low dam. You can stand on it to fish as these folks in the first photo are doing or wade in the river when the dam isn't open. That 1st photo was taken 11/07/08. The second photo was taken in the same area early in 2008 (notice no leaves on the trees). The 3rd and 4th photos were taken near Norris Dam, a high dam, the first week of September. I wanted to include at least one boat photo. They are all part of the same river.
