I moved here in Sept. will be 2 yrs from Jersey, In all honestly it took me a long time to adjust to the quiet, but it was my fault, I was looking "back to much" but as I looked around the past months at the GORGEOUS mnts here in East TN and the lakes and I was selling myself short.Tennnesee is beautiful!I so enjoy going out and seeing mnts all around! I find the fog on them amazing.I too wouldn't move back! Heck I have such a blast going to the rodeos too! I am glad you too enjoy this beautiful state!

Glad you're happy here. And phyll, that is totally the attitude to have. But I know it can be difficult at first. I could NEVER imagine living anywhere besides northeast TN.

Howdy, Mary!!! Great to see u again! I'm so glad that you are enjoying your new life in TN. You know, I opened one of my windows the other night when it was mild outside, and i heard those country night sounds. I said a quick prayer of thanks that i live here and life sounds sooo good! Love looking at the mtns out across our back fields and toward the creek in the front. I agree with you, i wouldn't want to be anywhere else!

I remember you. Stop in and say hello every now and then.

Here's a question for you. How many people have you seen wearing cowboy hats (outside of the tourist areas) since you've been here?

;-)

What fog? Haven't you heard of the SMOKY Mountains? lol

I'm in Kentucky but I agree eastern Tennessee is something to behold! Wife and I took a vacation to Gatlinburg and the Smokies last fall and she took several hundred pictures! We got a picnic lunch and sat along the the river on the road to Cades Cove and thoroughly enjoyed it!

If you have D.I.Y. network on your TV, check out Blog Cabin. They are building a house on Watt's Bar Lake in east Tn., using suggestions from viewers.
