At least Yankees are coming without guns this time. Bringing money is a far better thing.

Baptist hospital closed.

I'm a Yankee. Capt. Dan says he doesn't like Yankees, but as far as I can tell, he's from Indiana.

Born in Bolivar Tennessee! Went to High School in Gary Indiana back when it was full of Southerners. Spent my career in California and retired back home in Tennessee. Rebel to the bone! But in reality I have nothing against people from the other side of the Mason Dixon. I do however hope they dont try to change our slower pace of life when they move down here. That and they really talk fast!

you will be received by most in wt tn w/ a handshake and, most likely, some kind of food preparation...believe me, you are welcome in wt tn...and, i'm sure anywhere else in tn. natives are famous for their kindness and hospitality. some residents will be as plain as dirt...some may be the riches people you have ever met; some will talk your ear off, and some will say few words, but they will let their actions toward you speak volumes. wherever you decide, you can make for yourself a wonderful life here in tn. welcome, friend.

4B2G is on a distinguished road
We talk too fast? That's funny. I'll try to be more conscious of that.

Main reasons for moving to TN:

1. Outnumbered by liberals, tired of feeling out of place.
2. As we're scraping ice off our windshield every morning in April, we're wondering why we've lived up here as long as we have.
3. The four seasons in MI are: winter, winter, winter, and 3 months of really bad sledding
4. The pace up here is just too darn fast.
5. I don't know how any one can afford to live in MI anymore, unless they're a doctor or a lawyer.

I was really pleased with how this thread started off and how helpful everyone was in the beginning (I was thinking, "ooh goodie, a good thread!"). Somewhere at page two it started to turn into yet another grade school Us vs. Them! That's just plain ole saaaaad. I thought the OP wanted people's opinions of what part of Tennessee would best to move to?
