We'll be checking out the area, familiarizing ourselves with the towns, and looking at Real Estate.
Our house went on the market yesterday afternoon.
The Realtor has an Open House planned for Saturday.
We dropped our dog off with our son last night, and now, we are all set.
My husband will be talking to the Postmaster in Springfield next week.
Hopefully, he'll get one of the positions that they are holding.
In order of preference... we put in for....
Springfield
White House
Clarksville
Our transfer will be to one of those three.
Hopefully, our first choice.

YAAAAY yes have a great time! see everything... tell everything... big smile! I am counting the days to the 20th - when I go I will be looking at Franklin, Bellvue, Fairview, Murfresboro and Nashville (yes I know bellevue is part of Nash (whew!) I may have to extend my stay!

Hi All and Thanks. I'm new to the board and glad I found it. My husband accepted a job in Kingsport so we are relocating to the Tri-cities area from SW PA. He has been there since Nov. I have made several trips down to look at houses and I really like the area. Most of the people I've met so far have been very kind, friendly and helpful. The scenery isn't much different from here but the climate is better. For those of you who are going down to check the area out just talk to people and ask questions; I have gotten alot of info from all sorts of people, get some area maps and do alot of driving around and stop at the little road side places talk to the locals. That is what we have been doing and I am very excited about our move, can't wait to get settled and drop a line in the water or take a ride in the Smokies on a fine horse.

Thanks mbmouse & PghPaNative. Like I said I can't wait to get settled. We found a house in Fall Branch & close on 4/9, but we still have the house in PA to sell, all this paperwork & sorting through stuff is horrifying.
PghPaNative where do you live PA or TN?

I got back from there March 16 and you are all making me feel like I want to leave now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I loved my trip there and can't wait to move which hopefully will be this fall. I plan on going in june or July (yes the hottest months) to look for potential jobs/places to live. People were so helpful and offering to help. I love the scenery and peacefulness. I plan on going outside of Nashville. I am a nurse so hopefully I will be able to get a job by the time I relocate. Ok, so maybe I can fit in one of your suitcases and you can take me with! Oh and Princess says bye!

Hi TNBound. Did you make reservations at a hotel? My friend said they'd drill me with a bad price if I tried to stay anywhere down there with no reservations. Enjoy your trip, I'm trying to do one asap.
