You guys stay safe until this is completely over. The Weather Channel still has warning for the middle of TN until 10 pm. It looks HORRIBLE all over the south east!

And here we are where I live complaining that we are getting some snow tomorrow.....puts it in perspective!

Default Stay safe, Tennessee.

I had to check in and see how all of you folks are faring tonight.

I am so sorry to hear about the devastation in McMurfreesboro. How tragic for those folks.

I am about just at the north end of Lake Lanier here in N. GA and we have had 3 bombardments in the last 1 1/2 hrs. of golf ball size hail. There goes my son's unprotected car again.

The sirens have been wailing off and on for awhile and I must admit that after a bit we get rather cavalier about them and aren't being as cautious about taking cover as we were earlier. Bad thinking!

I am going to a windowless area of the house now until this current round of hail and high winds passes. We are under tornado warning now in our county.

Stay safe, TN. I don't want to get up there and see all of the trees flat and the folks in their basements. You are all in my prayers tonight.

I've been really worried about YOU. I could see those horrible storms headed your way. Take care and let us know how you are!

Hope you are OK by now.

My wife and I will be in Marysville the 24th for a visit to decide where to live. How are your plans coming?

That was a bad storm system for sure. As you may have seen,Mena,Arkansas got hit very hard. Mena reminds me of a lot of the mountain towns in East Tennessee! What a shame.

Eastern Tennessee was also in a tornado watch for awhile this afternoon and evening. All I got though was heavy rains, gusty winds, vivid lightning and torrential rains. Thankfully it was nothing worse than that.

Hope all is ok!

We need to ask that everyone check back in. Sometimes people don't post for awhile, understandable, but we just want to know everyone on board is safe. I read this morning where a mother and baby have died in Murfreesboro - those storms are every bit as scary as a hurricane, very violent and can catch people unprepared. At least with hurricanes, we get to watch it for several days before it hits.

Stupid question but please answer this flatlander, can tornadoes climb mountains? If yes, has anyone had that experience?
