Default Beautiful pictures of Monterey

JHubtin,

Your pictures are beautiful. Gorgeous kids too. I see that the little one likes to pose for pictures. How I would love to find property with a view like in the picture with the cabin. The Monterey area is beautiful. I can't wait to see the area in August.

Great pictures of Monterey! I buy all my shoes at Phillips Shoes in downtown Monterey followed by a peanut butter milkshake at Dairy Queen.

Default Monterey

Hi guillot,

If you are looking for property like that go out to the ledges in Hanging Limb just 12 miles from Monterey. You'll also find some just 5 miles outside of Monterey. We were looking at a 17 acre lot out there, about 5 cleared, City water and electric, a 1996 triple wide, a little river (not a creek) running through the property, caves, and areas already fenced for goats, chickens, etc. for only $139K. It's amazing. We own 14 1/2 acres in the ledges and got it at a great price.

Anybody here live in Monterey? My husband and I just moved here in December 2006.

Hi kkcarlton,

I'll be in Tennessee in August, so I will definitely check out that area. I'm really anxious to become a property owner in Tennessee. Thanks for the information you've provided. It is greatly appreciated.

Best Wishes,

Johnny

There are a lot of Hispanics in Monterey. The elementary school is about 1/3 Hispanic. But looking at the 2006 state test scores, the elementary school (Uffelman) and the middle school (Burks) scored higher than the state average on everything. Scores for Monterey HS were also higher than the state average for most subjects.

Go to http://www.k-12.state.tn.us/rptcrd06/ to see the scores. Scroll to Putnam County. Then look up the scores for the three schools in Monterey: Monterey HS, Burks MS, and Uffelman ES.

By the way, Monterey HS in 2006 was a National Blue Ribbon school. I have no idea what that means, but it sounds impressive.
