Recommendations for Physicians in the Oak Ridge area (health insurance, employment)

I hope I'm not going against any rules by asking this ....I read them again and I think this is okay. I also searched the forum for this and didn't come up with anything.

We are moving to Oak Ridge and are setting up our health insurance through my DH's new job down there. We need to choose a primary care physician. Our problem is that we don't know anyone down there and don't know anything about any of the physicians. Are there any good general practitioners there that anyone would recommend? Also, we will need a pediatrician for our son.

I apologize if this type of post isn't allowed. I'm still trying to get a feel for the boards and what is okay. Thanks everyone!

Have you asked anyone at your husband's new place of employment in Oak Ridge? I don't know who his insurance is with, but not in my experience not every doctor will accept all insurance companies. I don't know if that's the case in Oak Ridge or not, but you might want to see if that's the case.

We haven't yet. My DH hasn't started there yet and he has to have his insurance forms filled out on day one....including which physician we want to use. So I was just trying to figure out if there was a better way than just picking from a list. The only other person we've actually talked to down there is a realtor. I may e-mail her and see if she can recommend someone. Thanks!
