Default Stay in Memphis or move to Nashville???

Hi

I just wanted your feedback. We have been in Olive Branch, MS a little over a year and have an opportunity to move to Nashville. Do you think this would be beneficial to move the family to Nashville or should we stay in Memphis? any thoughts would be appreciated!!!!

Also, what are the good school districts in Nashville and the surrounding areas????

Thanks

I love both cities. They are completely different, so I guess it would depend on your family's likes/dislikes. Are you happy living in the Memphis area? Would your kids want to leave their friends?

Nashville's suburbs have some excellent school districts. Williamson County, Hendersonville, and Murfreesboro probably have the highest rated schools although to be honest just about any of Nashville's suburbs would have schools that are at least as good as DeSoto County's.

My smart-alek answer is "Why are you even asking, and what are you waiting for?!"

Seriously, unless you have family in Memphis and the opportunity to move is there, I would do it in a heartbeat. The economy is better (currently and historically), crime is less, the quality of schools is better.

JMT is telling you right about the schools. If you are in Nashville itself, there are some good public schools there, depending upon the age of your children. The quality of a school is usually a reflection of the community it serves.
There are also many good private schools of all stripes in Nashville to choose from.
