Default Teacher saves student

In today's news, a teacher in Anderson County stopped a man from abducting his 6 year old child after the man had bolted out of Anderson County Juvenile Court after being ordered to undergo a drug screen.

The man entered the school and saw his child. The teacher, who knew that the man had lost custody of his child, said he couldn't take the boy. The man picked up his child and ran with him, but he dropped him just outside the door. The teacher then grabbed the child and cradled him in her arms. When she slipped on the grass, she covered the child with her body so that the man couldn't reach the boy. Eventually the assistant principal and another teacher, both men, were able to restrain the father.

Even after her heroic efforts, the teacher gave all the credit to those two men.

We say plenty of bad things about our public schools, but words can't express how proud I am of this brave and humble teacher who didn't hesitate to put her own safety in jeopardy in order to protect a 6 year old child in her class.

That's how we'd all HOPE to react in a crisis, how wonderful that these people had the presence of mind and courage to actually do it. I'm sure no words can express the mother's gratitude.

God bless that teacher!

Default Teacher Saves Student

Does anyone know the name of the teacher and where she teaches? I am working on study that focuses on teachers who save or protect students.
