Thanks! I'll do a google search on that. hmmm....will also google search in TN while I'm at it!

I'm with Danielle - we love the log cabins, but on the inside, and I know you can put up plaster or wallboard, but logs and wood on all walls would be toooooo much! Hubby bought this house we're living in a few months before we met - hardwood floors in the living room, as well as 70's wood panelling, and faux wood tongue and groove panels on the ceiling - TOO MUCH W@@D! Makes the living room look dark and dingy, no matter how bright we turn up the lights. So, we're currently putting joint compound in the cracks of the wood panelling, and painting over the walls and ceiling (taking it down would just compound the cost). The room looks so bright and cheery now!

Perhaps log walls and cathedral ceilings in the family room wouldn't be too bad, as it would be primarily for watching tv, but the other rooms, I need light and cheery.

I'll go check out the modular log homes now - thanks again!

blessings, Shen

When building always go back to the first or second grade in school and review the story the teacher read you about "The Three Little Pigs and the Big Bad Wolf".

You really need to look on what type of logs and who is going to build the home. There alot of log home companys that drop and run. If you dont have good builder then no matter what you buy, he might not be good. I am building right now in spencer tn. We are building a battle Creek Log home. Really good stuff and I have a great builder. It took 2 years to research all of this. Take your time and do it right. I have made some errors and will learn if and when I build another home.
