My husband and I are thinking of changing our cell phone provider. In the past we have experienced variations from area to area with most providers. Since we are considering a move to East Tennessee, we were wondering which providers have the best coverage for that area. Thanks for your input.

I use Alltel which works great in Knoxville and in the Tri-Cities. My b/f uses Verizon, the service of which works great, but his and other friends' Verizon phone-operating systems seem to be particularly troublesome, freezing up, etc.

I have cingular and love it. No dropped calls, good coverage and no surprises with the bill.

That's good to hear. I'll be switching to Cingular in a few months if I can swing purchasing that gorgeous new iPhone.

Cingular HAS been owned by AT&T and BellSouth, WAY before the merger. It's just that it will be now branded as AT&T.

I know, who cares. That has nothing to do with reception.

It's just that this new marketing campaign has confused a lot of customers. It's still the same service.

I don't own a cellphone. I hate phones. I do have two land line companies in my house, though. That's because I haven't canceled the old one since I got Comcast. I need to do that.

I know, too much information!
