Default La Follette, Tennessee

Hi I am wondering if anyone can give me information on the schools and the town or surrounding areas in La Follette, Tennessee. My husband and I may be relocating to Tenn. from Ohio we are trying to buy a home and having no luck here getting what we are really looking for. So any and all info would be gr8 like schools stores and such. Thank you for any info

It may be more rural than what you want or realize. It's tiny and unemployment is high. I've talked to three different transplants from your area that moved there, and none were happy and all were going to move to Knoxville.

I've never lived there, though, so I am sure there are other opinions.

My place is in the goonie weeds up Powell valley from LaFollette. I like it there, but I haven't totally moved yet, and have no idea about jobs. No kids, so I don't know about schools.

But, LaFollette does have a Wally, Food Lion, and a Lowe's. Smallish hospital. Several banks, restaurants, etc., all the small town stuff. A surprising number of small, locally owned businesses in town. A lot of people commute to Knoxville or Oak Ridge for work. Property away from the lake is more affordable. Outdoors stuff is very popular. Lots of pickup trucks.

Depending on what part of Ohio you are in, it will remind you a lot of the long, narrow towns, in the valleys or along the river, in the southern part of the state.
