Smile Tennessee magazine?

Is there either a state sponsored or private monthly magazine that promotes Tennessee specifically? I'm thinking of something on the order of "Texas Monthly", or "Arizona Highways" that has interesting stories of unique history, citizens, attractions, and communities throughout the state?

Turkey Creek Tom is on a distinguished road
My favorite is "The Tennessee Magazine" a monthly publication of the rural electric cooperative in Tennessee. It has interesting stories and also has a listing of most of the events in Tennessee, including West, Middle and East.
The magazine is free to rural Tennessee residents who have electricity. Out of state residents can subscribe to it for a small fee.
Another fine magazine is the one by the Dept of Conservation called "The Tennessee Conservationlist", there is a $15 annual subscription for that magazine.

If I had the backing, I'd start one. I think it's sorely needed.

In what if I may ask.... I see numorious online subscriptions about TN. But the magazine is becoming a endangered animal.. Nothing like a good read on a chilly night...... in a easy chair.

It would just say "The Tennessee Magazine." It would be everything Tennessee. There's a lot of interest in the state and it would sell well out of state and of course within, also.

Personal interest stories, news, recipes, perhaps a look at a town or community, a building or house that is being built that is architecturally interesting, unique history, a new business, fascinating people. I use to be the "features" writer when I was a newspaper reporter. This is just what the OP is looking for, but quite frankly, it just does not exist.

I would like to see "Traditions" Grandfather too Father too Son...Grandmother too Mother too Daughter.... how to dress the deer... how to bake that pie.. traditions are heirlooms of families passed from one generation to the next.. we are loosing that with this digital age. Something on that line for a magazine....

That is an excellent idea, and I would love to incorporate that into MY magazine! Who knows, maybe I should go into desktop publishing.
