I was much closer to the beach when I lived in Fort Myers.

Dreadful today.... here in northeast Tennessee, dewpoints were running in the mid 70s.... thats tropical. In Abingdon Virginia (southwest Virginia), which is only 22 miles northeast of the Tennessee state line, they had a dewpoint reading today of 80°, yes, 80°! STEAMY!

I know that here tonight at my house at the 1:30am hour, its 77° and nearly 100% humidity. Its like a steam bath out.

Humidity in TN is really no more or less than any other place in the southeast... the southeast is known for high humidity... especially in the summer.

Yes I would. I've been to Florida once in September, saw that it was just as hot as here if not hotter, and have no desire to ever return.

In Middle TN, not as bad as I expected , coming from Palm Springs, CA which is desert, but there is a whole lot. The bugs are worse than the humidity IMO

Humidity can get pretty rough for those who aren't used to it. I hate the feeling of sweat just pouring down my limbs. Not pleasant. Sometimes it seems as if you are breathing an air/water mixture here outside of Jackson, Tennessee. Overall, I would agree with the poster who said bugs are worse. I hate them with a passion. If you drive at night, especially in the rural areas where there are no street lights to distract those suckers, you'll think you are driving through rain. I can hear the splatters of the bugs constantly as if they were raindrops in a storm.
