Default Seat belts

They just passed a new law here that the driver is responsible for all passengers, besides themselves to wear seatbelts.

There are separate fines for the driver, and the passengers.
If for instance the driver is seatbelted, but the passenger isn't, if the passenger is an adult, both the driver and the passenger will be fined.
If the passenger is a child, then the driver will be fined, plus a fine for the child.

Just wondering if Tennessee has passed a similar seatbelt law.

Thanks SmokyMtnGal,
The date is coming up very quickly for our move, and I'm
checking out last minute things.

I'm a very strong advocate of wearing seatbelts.
My car doesn't move unless everyone is seatbelted.
Since they just barely passed the mandatory seatbelt law here,
I thought I would ask if Tennessee has also gotten one.

I have no idea if such a law exists in TN or not, but anyone who gets in my car has no choice; the have to buckle up or ride elsewhere.

There definitely is a mandatory seat belt law in TN but I am with Steve; even before there was a law everyone wore a seatbelt. My kids usually have theirs on even before I do!
