especially towns of Estill Springs, Sewanee and Cowan..........looking for a very small town, inexpensive and low crime to relocate to from maryland.......according to citydata crime stats, it appears crime is rather high in Winchester for such a small town........thanks in advance.......

I went to college in Sewanee, which is about 10 miles from Winchester. Winchester is a typical small Tennessee town; it is anything but a high crime area. The way citydata calculates crime index often makes small towns appear more dangerous than they really are.

Hi, I am from Winchester, and it is a small little southern town and is very nice and very natural. I have a llot of family in Estill and it really has nothing there, you have to drive to Winchester or Tullahoma, but it is very nice. Sewanee has nothing up there, and has a lot of hippies. Hope this helps!
