No, but believe it or not I am a decendant of Eric The Red on my mother's side as well as being a celtic woman with strong Irish ties. I'm also English and American Indian on my fathers side. What a mix huh? Don't worry I haven't been robbing or pillaging for quite awhile and I've never scalped anybody. So everybody's safe

That's very interesting. My knowledge of Scandanavian history wouldn't fill a thimble, but I had the mistaken idea that Leif was the son of Eric the Red. Oh, well. I've always been a big fan of Leif's. Especially when he played the lead role on High Chaparral. He didn't look anywhere near a thousand years old. But some people just don't show their age.

Sometimes Ridgerunner I think you know just about everything. It's probably so. My education on Scandanavian history probably wouldn't fill a thimble. I only know that my family on my mother's side has been traced back to Eric The Red and I know they ran around in long boats. Except for the robbing, raping and pillaging, that's all I know about it. I think you're right about Lief being his son but I'm not certain so I can't say so.

I'm related to Sir Walter Raleigh (or Sir Walter Scott . . . I get 'em confused). One of them married a Gibbs (my grandmother's family). I'm also related to John Sevier, the first governor of Tennessee. Sorry to say, he left nothing to me. ;-)
