Alright TN ppl here's a cornbread festival update for you. We headed off to the festival early Saturday morning and I can tell ya' we had a great time! The road was backed up and we walked quite a distance to Main Street but it was a beautiful day so no complaints there. Tons of food vendors serving everything from shrimp on a stick to pintos and of course cornbread as well as local artisans selling their ware. There was also a street carnival/traveling show with ferris wheels and all that good stuff. Some pickin' and a grinnin' and lil old men just a'shufflin away! We missed to cookoff and the car show but it was still a great family event. For a small town they put on quite a show. I can tell you that we will go back

There was a nice little writeup in the Tennessean this morning about the Cornbread Festival. Apparently the winner was something called "the chicken taco combo with cilantro". Oh, the horrors.

What can you expect, they had a bunch of newspaper people judging the contest. These are the same people who run recipes for "crispy baked goldfish with mango raspberry glaze."
