Well it seems to me that the possibilities are endless really, and that's a good thing. We are going to be booking a a 3-4 day trip in September, is there a place we should start, to look for apartments, etc. And again, thank you everyone, you've all been most helpful.

[quote=Maveryck;9902244]Thank you Alley Cat & JMT - Very much appreciated. I'm currently looking into Greenville and so far it seems like what we're looking for. Prices are cheaper for apartments than they are here that's for sure. And as I said I'm sure questions would arise as I'm doing research for our move, how is the employment there? I've had retail experience for 16 years, have a degree in IT work, and have consulted and managed 2 music stores for 8 years, anything like that around Greeneville? Or any chance of getting a job there at all for me, as my wife should be able to transfer from her Wal-Mart.[/QUOTE

Greene County Partnership Once open go to the Chamber list and the relocation package.. Their is also list of manufacturing firms in the area.

I would suggest setting up a bogus e-mail address and name. This way you can control the spam and who & whom you contact. The Chamber has tons of information on the area.. just ask.

Whatever you do, don't move to Morgan County. I understand that drugs are everywhere, but Morgan County is full of bums and drug addicts. Oxycontin is the most popular drug there. Oak Ridge is where the nuclear plants are, and I don't believe the government officials when they say that Oak Ridge is safe. That nuclear waste is in the water. I've lived in Kansas and California and wish my family wouldn't have moved to TN. lol. Good luck.

Hi

I am from NY and am single 55 and looking for a place for me and the horse and some other critters. Would like Culture a yoga class within35 minutes and beautiful country. Was looking at Spencer, but it is remote.
Any suggestions? I am also not religious and would like a bit left of center.

Thanks

I would not suggest Spencer... it's relatively hard to get to, although it's near a beautiful state park, Fall Creek Falls. Instead, I'd look at Crossville... and/or Chattanooga, which has a burgeoning arts community and left-center neighborhoods on the north shore of downtown. Plus, Walden is only 20 miles north of Chattanooga on a mountain, and you should find plenty of space for your horse. It's less than an hour from Spencer if you really want to go. Lastly, I'd suggest you look into Cleveland and Cookeville, as they both have universities there.

The main campus of the University of Tennessee is in Knoxville. Left of center is very welcome. Lots and lots of yoga classes but ten minutes out of town and you are rural. Beautiful, beautiful area. Knoxville is in the middle of The Great Smoky Mountains and The Cumberland Plateau.

I'm from the northeast, too. I've been here four years!
