Our Cabin in Overton County.

Fall 2005

And for the people with Winter questions. This was the big snow last Winter. This was about 3 days after 7" fell. I love it.

Are there any small towns near a lake but close to Nashville for work?

Sorry, this was one of a kind location (lake out front and mountains out back in the distance) that I fell in love with after searching for a long time. The log cabin was a bonus thrown in (iceing on the cake).

The trip was awesome. Everyone seems to be heading to east TN or somewhere in the middle but we absolutely loved the area around Savannah on the Tennessee River. We took a trip on the Natchez Trace. what a beautiful road. Very anxious to escape from Bonita Springs FL ASAP. Just one house to sell. There is some hope as I have seen a few Sale Pending signs.

Default Floridians, there is hope

Our market here on the Central East Coast of Florida has imploded. But after lowering the price of our house $15,000, we sold it yesterday. It was on the market a little over two months. Now blind panic has set in: the closing is Aug. 31.
We will hitch up our fifth wheel travel trailer and head for eastern Tennessee; live in an RV park while we find what we want to buy.
Now, if we just don't get a tropical storm/hurricane in the next three weeks...
And, boy, I can't wait to tell our "replacement" home owners insurance company (which would probably charge us $3,000 in 2007) to kiss my grits.
Cheers,
Maggie

Thanks, everyone. Loved reading your posts about how ugly Florida has become. I thought it was just me. On the east side of Orlando there is a huge shopping complex (Waterford lakes) where there use to be trees. I met a friend for lunch today - usually do not go near shopping areas on a Sat. - but he needed to talk and I met him for coffee. It took me 30 min to find a parking spot. I won't even mention the rude people that I encountered in this search.
